Pileus Project team members often present their methods and findings through outreach presentations to various stakeholder and research organizations. The following represent a sample of these presentations.
Agriculture

Introduction of the Pileus Project, with a focus on the work being done for the tart cherry industry. Historical climate trends, variability and their impacts on the tart cherry industry are discussed. This presentation shows some of the potential benefits of the Pileus Project, including: development of simple crop models that may ultimately be used to evaluate the impact of future climate trends and variability on tart cherry production.

Julie Winkler gave an invited presentation on the Pileus Project to the faculty and students of the Department of Geography and Department of Meteorology at the University of Oklahoma in February, 2006. The attached file focuses on the climate portion of this presentation, including some of the underlying research for the Future Scenarios Tool (including screenshots of the tool) and future work and collaborative efforts.

There is significant evidence that our global climate is changing, and as the climate changes, so too will the risk faced by stakeholders. Many regional industries are affected by climate, and industry stakeholders routinely make decisions to manage that risk. The Pileus Project focuses on potential benefits and risks associated with climate variability and change, with respect to economic decision-making for two regional industries: agriculture and recreation/tourism.
